What is Funded account?

Updated 2026-10-26

Short answer

A funded account is the account you trade after passing an evaluation, where your profits are split with the firm and can be withdrawn.

A funded account is the account you receive after passing an evaluation. You trade it with the firm's capital, and the profits are split between you and the firm, 80% to you on the crypto plans we track. Unlike challenge profits, funded profits can actually be withdrawn, subject to the payout schedule and the minimum payout.

A funded account is not free of rules. Daily loss limits and maximum loss limits still apply, and some firms keep a consistency rule or a payout buffer in the funded stage too. Breaching a funded account ends it, and there is no reset fee that buys it back the way a challenge reset does. The account is the firm's asset, and the rules protect it.

This stage matters because it is the only stage that pays. A trader who passes and then breaches the funded account in the first week has paid the full price for no payout at all.

The common trap is loosening discipline once funded. The target is gone, so traders often size up or hold losers longer, and the same loss limits that constrained the challenge end the funded account instead. Trade the funded account with the same plan that passed the evaluation. Prop trading can cost you every fee you pay.

Example

Worked example: you pass a $100,000 evaluation and receive a funded account on an 80% split. You make $5,000 in your first month. Your share is $4,000, which you can request once the payout window opens and the minimum payout is met. Lose $10,000 against a 10% maximum loss and the funded account breaches.
