Costs at each stage

The pricing models are different enough that entry price alone is misleading. Topstep's 50K Trading Combine is $49/month on the Standard path plus a $149 one-time activation fee for each Express Funded Account you earn, or $95/month with no activation fee; resets cost the full monthly price. Tradeify's evaluations are one-time purchases with no activation fee on any current plan: Growth 25K is $99 and Growth 50K is $145, with reduced-price resets. At the 50K size, passing in one month costs $198 at Topstep on the Standard path versus $145 once at Tradeify; every additional month adds $49-$95 at Topstep while Tradeify's price stays fixed, so the total depends on how many attempts and months you need.

Funded payout rules

Topstep's Express Funded Account offers two paths: Standard requires five winning days of $150+ and Consistency requires three trading days under a 40% consistency target; both pay 50% of the balance up to size-based caps of $2,000-$6,000, with caps doubled for a limited time when a daily loss limit was added at checkout. The minimum payout is $125 and the split is 90/10 (traders who joined the new dashboard before January 12, 2026 keep 100% of their first $10,000). Tradeify's Select evaluations let you choose Daily or Flex payout cycles after passing; the choice is permanent per account, and each cycle must close net positive before a payout. Simulated funded accounts pay 90/10 from the first payout.

The live account question

At Topstep, moving to a Live Funded Account is a selective call-up, not an automatic step: Topstep's published 2025 statistics state that 0.71% of individual participants trading in an Express Funded Account were called up to a Live Funded Account between January and December 2025. Once live, payouts stay at five winning days per cycle at up to 50% of the balance with no dollar cap, and 30 winning days in the Live account open daily payout requests from $125. Tradeify's Elite Live accounts pay an 80/20 split per its pricing reference; the firm also offers a Slay Markets brokerage route to take payouts into a live account. Neither firm guarantees a live transition.

Is Topstep or Tradeify cheaper?

It depends on size and how many attempts you need. Tradeify's Growth 50K costs $145 once with no activation fee. Topstep's 50K is $49/month plus $149 activation, so passing in one month totals $198; its $95/month path removes the activation fee.

How fast can I get a first payout?

Topstep's Express Funded Account requires five winning days of $150+ on the Standard path, or three days under a 40% consistency target. Tradeify's Select Daily plan allows daily payout eligibility once funded; Select Flex works in five-day cycles.

Does Topstep's activation fee apply on the $95/month plan?

No. The $95/month No Activation Fee path charges nothing when you pass. The $149 fee applies only on the Standard path, once per Express Funded Account earned. Paths cannot be changed after purchase.

How do the live account paths differ?

Topstep promotes selected traders to a Live Funded Account with uncapped payouts and daily requests after 30 winning days there. Tradeify lists Elite Live accounts at an 80/20 split and a Slay Markets brokerage route. Both paths are selective, not guaranteed.
