How do the six perps prop firms compare?

Six firms sell the 119 perps challenges we track on our perps market page: Breakout, Kraken Prop, Crypto Fund Trader, Propr, My Funded Perps and E8 Perpetuals. 95 rows are perps-only and 24 span perps and CFD markets, all from Crypto Fund Trader. We checked each firm's official rules, FAQ or help pages on October 25, 2026 for the venue and leverage columns below; prices and rules come from the dataset itself.

The venue column is the real divider. Propr builds on Hyperliquid with execution it describes as verifiable on-chain, per its rulebook. Crypto Fund Trader lets you trade on Match-Trader, MetaTrader 5 or your own personal Bybit account with Bybit's native fees, per its FAQ. Breakout runs a simulated environment sourcing third-party liquidity, per its program rules. Kraken Prop runs a simulated evaluation and, on passing, a funded wallet of Kraken's capital with payouts to your Kraken account, per its official page. My Funded Perps states in its FAQ that no order ever reaches an exchange: fills are simulated from real market data and payouts are real payments. E8 Perpetuals ties its per-instrument notional caps to Hyperliquid order book depth, recalculated daily, per its help center.

What does a 50K perps challenge cost at each firm?

The 22 rows at the $50K size span $139 to $965, a nearly 7x spread at the same nominal size, with a $327.50 median. The two cheapest are Breakout's Spark and Crypto Fund Trader's Break, both at $139, and both leave the max loss field blank in our data, so read their rules pages before treating them as comparable. The most expensive is My Funded Perps' Elite No DLL option at $965, the price advertised for the plan without a daily loss limit; we have not verified a matched plan pair isolating that rule as the price driver.

One dataset caveat: 115 of the 119 rows do not state a billing model, so these are listed entry prices, not verified one-time or recurring costs. Confirm that on the checkout page.

The named 50K rows: Breakout runs $139 (Spark, max loss unstated), $180 (Turbo, 9% target, 3% max loss), $280 (Pro, 12%, 5%) and $400 (Classic, 10%, 6%). Three Kraken Prop rows share price, target and max loss with Breakout's three highest: Advanced at $180 (9%, 3%), Intermediate at $280 (12%, 5%) and Starter at $400 (10%, 6%). Propr's four 50K evaluations run $245 (Turbo, 3% max loss), $355 (Pro, 5%), $450 (Classic 2-Step, 8% trailing) and $495 (Classic, 6%). My Funded Perps runs $190 (Select, 3%), $300 (Prime, 5%), $419 (Signature, 6%), $495 (Elite with a 3% daily loss, 5%) and $965 (Elite No DLL, 5%). Crypto Fund Trader's four rows run $139 (Break), $369 (1 Phase, 6% trailing), $389 (2 Phases, the other two-step row) and $450 (Ascend, max loss unstated), and E8's two rows run $228 (Pro, 8% static) and $288 (One, 6% trailing).

How do the rules compare across firms?

Across all 119 rows: the median profit target is 10% (110 rows state one), the median max loss 6% (109 rows) and the median daily loss 3% (105 rows). The max loss is static on 86 rows (72%) and trailing on 24 (20%), almost the reverse of futures prop in our data.

The percentages are normalized across firms, but the bases are not. My Funded Perps measures percentages from the starting balance; Propr recalculates the daily loss from the start-of-day balance at 00:00 UTC; Crypto Fund Trader uses the balance at 12:05 AM UTC; My Funded Perps resets its day at midnight New York time. Two plans that both say 3% can give you different floors on the same day.

The fine print differs in ways worth real money:

  • Crypto Fund Trader's 1-Phase trailing drawdown is balance-based and locks once it reaches the initial balance, per its FAQ's worked example.
  • My Funded Perps moves the max loss floor up to your starting balance after your first funded withdrawal on Select, Prime and Signature; on Elite it never moves.
  • Propr's 2-Step trailing drawdown never rises above the starting balance and returns to its starting level after a payout, per its rulebook.
  • Kraken Prop advertises no consistency rules, no time limits and no profit caps.

Most rows set no minimum trading days (81 of 119), and 88% state a daily loss limit. Compare plans on our perps challenge list.

How do trading fees, funding and splits compare?

Fee mechanics follow the venue model, verified October 25, 2026:

  • Breakout charges 0.04% per side on notional plus a firm-set swap of 0.033% per open position per day.
  • Crypto Fund Trader passes Bybit's native fees and funding rates through with no markup on Bybit accounts, and charges overnight swap fees on its Match-Trader and MT5 CFD routes.
  • My Funded Perps charges fixed hourly swap fees; the venue funding rates shown in its terminal are informational only and do not touch your balance.
  • Propr and Kraken Prop do not publish comparable fee schedules on the pages we checked. Kraken Prop states it covers any losses beyond the evaluation fee, and Propr's rulebook says you never owe trading losses.

On splits, 80% to the trader is the dataset standard (102 of 113 rows that state one). The exceptions cost or pay extra: E8's Pro plan lists 100%, Kraken Prop sells a 90% upgrade ($54 on a $10K wallet, per its page), and My Funded Perps' Elite lists 80/20 with an optional 90/10 upgrade at checkout. Payout schedules are stated on only 4 of 119 rows; Kraken Prop advertises on-demand payouts typically within 24 hours, and My Funded Perps says funded Elite accounts can request payouts anytime.

How should you shortlist a perps prop firm?

This comparison is research, not a purchase instruction: two of the cheapest rows do not state a max loss in our data, and 115 of the 119 rows do not state billing, so no row here is a ready choice until you confirm its current rules on the firm's own pages. Shortlist by what you cannot compromise on:

  • On-chain transparency: Propr, which describes verifiable on-chain execution on Hyperliquid.
  • Real exchange execution: Crypto Fund Trader's Bybit route, which puts the evaluation on your own Bybit account under Bybit's native fees.
  • A big exchange's ecosystem: Kraken Prop, with a simulated evaluation and funded wallets of Kraken's capital on passing.
  • The lowest 50K entry price: Breakout's Spark and Crypto Fund Trader's Break, both $139 in our data; both leave the max loss unstated, so confirm their rules before treating them as comparable.
  • No daily loss limit: My Funded Perps' Elite No DLL option at $965 for the 50K size, the most expensive row we track at that size and the price advertised for that option.

Whatever you shortlist, verify percentages, bases, reset times and fees on the firm's own pages before paying. We collect what we verify in our perps firm reviews, and prop trading can cost you every fee you pay.

Frequently asked questions

Which perps prop firm is cheapest?

At the 50K size in our October 2026 data, the cheapest one-step challenges are Breakout's Spark and Crypto Fund Trader's Break at $139, against a $327.50 median across the 22 rows at that size. Both leave the max loss unstated in our data, so read their rules before comparing.

Do perps prop firms trade on real exchanges?

It varies by firm. Propr describes on-chain execution on Hyperliquid and Crypto Fund Trader can run your evaluation on your own Bybit account. Breakout runs a simulated environment sourcing third-party liquidity, Kraken Prop runs a simulated evaluation with a funded Kraken-capital wallet on passing, and My Funded Perps states no order reaches an exchange.

What leverage do perps prop firms offer?

Verified October 2026 caps: Breakout 2x to 10x by instrument, Kraken Prop up to 10x on BTC, Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500, Crypto Fund Trader up to 1:100 on Bybit-linked accounts, E8 Perpetuals 1:15 on BTC and ETH, and My Funded Perps varies by market. Propr does not state a cap in its rulebook.

Which perps prop firm has the best profit split?

80% to the trader is the standard in our data, stated on 102 of 113 rows. E8's Pro plan lists 100%, and Kraken Prop and My Funded Perps sell 90% upgrades, so the top split depends on what you pay for it.

Across all rows in our dataset at each size, the median price is $85 at $10K (21 rows), $327.50 at $50K (22 rows) and $595 at $100K (19 rows). Most rows do not state whether billing is one-time or recurring, so confirm at checkout.

Prop trading carries a real risk of losing every fee you pay. This article is general information, not financial advice. Always read the firm's own rules before you buy.

How we got these numbers

Computed from our perps challenges CSV dated 2026-10-25 (119 plan rows from 6 firms; row counts, so firms with more plans weigh more). 95 rows are perps-only and 24 span perps and CFD markets (all from Crypto Fund Trader). Percentages are normalized across firms and the balance base varies by plan; blank cells mean not stated, not absent. Venue, leverage and fee mechanics verified on the official pages cited, all accessed 2026-10-25.
