We included only firms whose rules allow news trading without restriction during evaluation. We then ranked them by the funded-stage rule, since evaluation freedom means little if the funded account bans the same trades. Funded windows below come from each firm's own rules page, and the firms we track differ most on this point.

Short answer
Lark Funding is our top pick for news trading, because it puts no restrictions on trading through economic releases and earnings events. The firms below all allow news trading without restriction during evaluation, and we rank them by how much freedom remains once funded, since the funded-stage window is where most traders get caught.
How we picked

Lark Funding puts no restrictions on news trading, so traders may hold through economic releases and earnings events. Its 1-Step plan carries a 10% profit target, a 5% daily loss limit, and a 7% static maximum loss. That combination suits a trader who wants the same freedom in every phase, without checking a news calendar against a ban window.

Frequently asked questions
Does evaluation news freedom apply to funded accounts?
Not always. Most firms on this page restrict news trading once funded, even when evaluation is unrestricted. Lark Funding and Hola Prime's Prime plans put no restrictions on news trading in either stage. City Traders Imperium allows news trading too, but requires a stop loss within 1 minute of opening a trade. Check the funded-stage rule before you buy.
What happens if I trade through news on a funded account?
It depends on the firm. Some ban orders around releases, some cap the profit from those trades, and some apply a lower profit split to news trades. FundedNext applies a 40% news profit split on funded accounts while losses count in full. Read the funded rule, not just the evaluation rule.
Is news trading alone a reason to pick a firm?
No. Match the news rule to the rest of the plan: the daily loss limit, the drawdown type, and the payout schedule matter just as much. A firm with free news trading but a 3% daily limit may suit you less than one with a news window and a 5% limit. Prop trading can cost you every fee you pay.
