How do payouts compare?

FTMO pays on demand from day 14 after the first funded trade, with a $20 minimum. FundedNext pays Stellar 1-Step every 5 business days and Stellar 2-Step first at 21 days, then every 14 days, with a $20 minimum for USDT. FTMO refunds the 2-Step fee with the first reward; FundedNext refunds the 2-Step fee with the first reward and the 1-Step fee with the third.

Which rules catch people out?

FTMO bans opening or closing trades from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after selected high-impact news on standard funded accounts. FundedNext counts only 40% of profit from trades inside a 5-minute window either side of high-impact news on funded accounts, with losses counting in full. FTMO also bans weekend holding on standard funded accounts; FundedNext allows weekend holding on Stellar models.

What changes once funded?

FundedNext cuts leverage once funded: indices and commodities fall to 1:15 on 2-Step, from 1:25 in the challenge. FTMO keeps 1:100 forex leverage but drops to 1:30 on Swing, which buys its funded news and weekend freedom. FTMO's 1-Step adds a consistency rule from October 2026, with the best day capped at 50% of total profit. Prop trading can cost you every fee you pay.
